Comprehensive seminar programmes at Sign & Digital UK 2008 |
Sign & Digital UK 2008 returns to the Birmingham NEC on 22-24 April 2008, with a host of seminars, workshops and theatres that are sure to draw the crowds.
The various events are split into four sections. First up is the Sign & Digital UK Seminar theatre, covering a wide range of topics that are guaranteed to attract a wide variety of visitors.
The issues surrounding the environmental impact of your business are to be well catered for at the Sign & Digital UK theatre. There are two companies conducting seminars within the theatre, looking at different aspects and benefits of 'going green'. Steve Lister, business development manager at Robert Horne Sign & Display will be looking at the issues surrounding greener products, while Steve Wicks of Greenprint Consultancy will examine how businesses are best able to market their environmentally responsible activities, to both new and existing customers.
Visitors to the show will also be able to hear from two companies that have travelled from the USA, especially to talk at the show. Sawgrass Technologies is hosting an introduction to the benefits of dye sublimation, which will be led by John Barker, programme manager on the acclaimed 'Project Sublimation' educational series. Great Garment Graphics on the other hand is a specialist personalisation company, from which Mel Meibers will be holding a series of seminars looking at growing a business with heat printing, through to advanced user techniques when heat printing. Another exciting announcement at the Sign & Digital UK theatre, will be the re-launch of the DSPA, the trade association for the UK's print specialists and manufacturers. DSPA president, Peter Kiddell, and newly appointed business manager, John Keith, will be on-hand to answer questions and communicate their vision for the future of this essential resource.
In addition, the Walsall College theatre will return with a series of master classes encompassing a wide range of topics, from vehicle wrapping to the benefits of white ink. Run in conjunction with Roland DG, the educational master classes are designed to demonstrate key techniques and skills needed both for young trainees and those looking to expand their skill base.
Finally, following the success of previous shows, Adobe and Corel return, and will be running their own workshops sharing hints, tips and expert advice on the use of their applications.
The Adobe theatre will see Terry Steeley, of Iridius, conducting workshops on a broad range of subjects including Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3, and Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional. While Richard West, from Apple, will be looking at the benefits and features of running OS X Leopard, the brand new operating system from Apple, and Aperture 1.5, where RAW power meets raw power.
