CFH Docmail staff lead the way with flu immunisation

Staff at CFH Docmail, the UK hybrid mail company, will be getting their flu jabs on November 12th. The aim is to encourage other local businesses to follow suit. We need to keep vulnerable members of our community out of hospital this winter.
Over 100 staff at their Radstock offices will be vaccinated in one morning by Nomad Travel. Participants will get the popular reward of an orange and a bar of chocolate. Directors at CFH Docmail will be the first to roll up their sleeves to take their medicine. Staff will have their injections in shifts throughout the day.

Managing Director Adam Harwood says, “We are the biggest provider of print and post for GPs and every year we send out flu vaccination clinic letters and reminders for over 4,000 practices. We are very clear about the importance of flu vaccinations as a preventative measure and we think it’s important to allow staff to receive their jab in work time.”

“At CFH this has become a big social event and gives us an opportunity for everyone to get together to not only ensure they stay well through the winter and over Christmas, but also to protect their family and friends. We’re mindful that our GP practices and A&E departments are under huge pressures and this goes a small way towards helping.”

“As usual we’ll also be celebrating the heroic efforts of practice staff up and down the country with our Flu Hero competition. Most practices will have been planning the flu season for months and will be running fast-track flu clinics, with many outside normal hours offering walk up flu jabs. They also usually add winter health checks into the process. We would call on anyone who’s entitled to a free vaccination to make sure they take advantage of this opportunity at their GP surgery.”
