Pipi Print & Packaging Picks Horizon Folder to Win New Work

Pipi Print & Packaging has expanded capacity and enhanced its service delivery following investment in a Horizon AF-406F automatic folder.

The Leicester operation chose the system to enable it to win new work, streamline productivity and meet increased demand from the pharmaceutical industry. Hitesh Parmar, sales, explains: “We have always folded leaflets inhouse on a semi automatic folder. It was time to invest in a fully automated solution.”

He continues: “We have known about the Horizon AF-406F for a long time. We chose the folder as it can readily handle the different types of leaflets that we are folding. As we continue to grow within certain markets, lead-time is crucial. The new folder will help massively due to quick makereadies and running speeds. We also liked the functionality that the folder comes with. It is very easy to manage and straight forward when setting up different jobs at a time. We did look at alternatives but the Horizon AF-406F was perfect for our business.”

Since it has been installed the folder has been meeting expectations: “We have become even more efficient, jobs are being produced quicker and orders have become easier to manage thanks to the easy job set up. We expect it to help increase capacity and win new business.”

The Horizon AF-406F is a JDF ready automated modular buckle folder. Its 6+6 buckle modular concept allows for simple to complex fold patterns that maximise folding variations. Its colour touchscreen controls are intuitive for quick operator training and efficient set up while advanced and accurate automation helps reduce paper waste and energy consumption.
As for working with IFS Parmar says: “It is the first time we have worked with IFS but it is a great company with great vision. The team was very helpful in understanding our needs. They assisted us every step of the way. The installation process went smoothly and the operator training went very well. We were kept up to date about any changes due to the pandemic.”
