Plockmatic Group will stage live public running of its new compact automatic folding and gluing system on stands P540 and P640 at The Print Show at the NEC in Birmingham from 29 September to 1 October, where the Plockmatic Pro Tour returns with its broadest finishing line up to date.
The Box AutoFold from Plockmatic Group is a compact, automatic folding and gluing system for digitally produced die-cut packaging and presentation pieces. It is designed to bring repeatable folding and gluing of common straight fold formats within reach of digitally driven print providers, without the footprint or complexity associated with larger format equipment.
Digital print has reshaped packaging production, with shorter runs, greater variation and faster turnaround creating demand for a simpler route to finishing the most common packaging formats. Traditional folder gluers can be large, costly and complex to set up, and Plockmatic Group’s Box AutoFold offers a more compact, approachable path to automated production.
A continuous bottom feed auto-sheet feeder allows operators to top load additional die-cut sheets while the machine continues to run, supporting uninterrupted production. Two extended folding ploughs are designed around the realities of digitally cut media, where creases can be less defined than those produced by traditional platen die-cutting, while a German manufactured hot melt gluing head with fully automated sensing is intended to make adhesive application more controlled and repeatable.
A simplified rail system reduces setup complexity for faster changeover between formats, and a touchscreen interface brings operating functions together in one place. Finished work is pressed through a final roller assembly and delivered to a table with magnetic stacker guides, ready for collection.
The launch reinforces this year's Plockmatic Pro Tour stand, which returns to The Print Show with a 30% larger footprint, a series of UK debuts and the Renz portfolio presented as part of the Plockmatic stand for the first time.
