Leeds based print specialist, Zebra Print Group, has helped bring local history to life by producing a new visitor guide and map for Friends of Chapel Street Cemetery in Bradford ahead of a community open day.
The project saw Zebra Print Group print 250 copies of a bespoke A4 gate fold leaflet designed to help visitors navigate the historic cemetery while learning more about its heritage, notable features and ongoing preservation efforts.
Printed on 120gsm uncoated stock using Zebra's Xerox digital press, the guide combines historical information, visitor guidance and a detailed directional map, creating an accessible resource for both first time visitors and long standing supporters of the cemetery.
The project came about through a personal connection. The leaflet was designed by the son of one of the cemetery's volunteers, who had previously worked with Zebra Print Group and recommended the business after being impressed by its quality, service and attention to detail.
Friends of Chapel Street Cemetery commissioned the guide ahead of an open day event aimed at attracting visitors, volunteers and fundraising support for the historic site.
Chris Ellis, Key Account Executive at Zebra Print Group, said: "This was a relatively straightforward project from a production perspective, but one that carried a lot of meaning for the people involved.
"The artwork had already been created by the son of one of the cemetery volunteers, so our role was to make sure the finished piece looked professional and was ready in time for the open day.
"We carried out our usual pre-press checks, printed the leaflets digitally on our Xerox press, folded them into the gate fold format and packed them ready for collection. It's always rewarding to support local community projects, especially those helping to preserve local heritage and encourage more volunteers to get involved."
The project was delivered by Chris and printer, Owen Gamble, who managed the production process from pre-press checks through to printing, finishing and packing.
While the print run itself was relatively small, the project carried a tight deadline, with the guides required in time for the cemetery's open day activities. Zebra worked closely with the volunteer team to ensure the artwork moved quickly through production, allowing the leaflets to be printed, folded and collected within the required timeframe.
Friends of Chapel Street Cemetery praised Zebra's support for the project, commenting: "The Friends of Chapel Street Cemetery would like to express our sincere thanks for your generous donation of the printing of our new guide. This contribution will help us to encourage visitors and to share its history and heritage with the wider community."
The project reflects Zebra Print Group's ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations, charities and community initiatives across Yorkshire through high-quality print, design and production expertise.
